Impact Hub Liepāja – Connecting Research, Innovation, and People
As part of the NextTechTalents project, Impact Hub Liepāja plays a key role in linking academia with non-academic sectors, contributing its broad experience in innovation and entrepreneurship while strengthening the skills and career opportunities of early-stage researchers in the Deep Tech field.
Empowering Change through Collaboration
Impact Hub Liepāja is the first and only member of the global Impact Hub Network in the Baltic region – a worldwide community of impact-driven organizations, innovation incubators, and coworking hubs active in more than 100 cities and 50 countries with a mission to empower individuals and communities to create positive change. At the heart of Impact Hub Liepāja’s work lies a commitment to building competence, confidence, and inclusion among young people, NGOs and early-stage entrepreneurs.
Through mentoring, non-formal education, and international cooperation, Impact Hub has become a bridge connecting education, business, and civic participation, helping individuals and teams turn ideas into sustainable impact. With a strong network of over 90 mentors and experts from Latvia, Sweden, Estonia, Germany, and Austria, Impact Hub Liepāja supports innovation management, entrepreneurship, finance, technology, and personal development. This network actively contributes to mentoring programs, educational initiatives, and international collaborations that promote knowledge sharing and growth.
Role in the NextTechTalents Project
Within the NextTechTalents project, Impact Hub Liepāja contributes its expertise in mentorship, entrepreneurship skills development, stakeholder engagement, and ecosystem building. The organization supports the design of training modules and career development tools, helping to ensure that learning content reflects real labour market needs. Currently, Impact Hub Liepāja is conducting stakeholder interviews with representatives from the deep tech industry to collect data for a study on the skills young researchers need when entering the labour market.
Additionally, Impact Hub Liepāja contributes to the policy-related activities of the project, including discussions around the development of a new European Researcher Charter., providing practical insights from its extensive experience working with youth, startups, and innovation ecosystems. Hub’s involvement ensures that the project remains grounded in the real-world challenges and opportunities faced by emerging professionals in research and technology.
By joining NextTechTalents, Impact Hub Liepāja expands its mission into the European research area, helping bridge the gap between academic research, entrepreneurship, and innovation ecosystems. Through this collaboration, the organization contributes to building a more inclusive, sustainable, and future-ready talent ecosystem, where early-stage researchers can thrive across sectors and countries.
